Emotional SMARTS

Emotional Intelligence for Personal Leadership Workshop

Emotional SMARTS® or emotional intelligence:
If ever people need to know how to be emotionally smart in their work,
home and relationship life, it is right now … when many face financial
worries, workplace uncertainties, career fragility, relationship
pressures, health, wellness or family concerns.
Dr. June Donaldson’s groundbreaking book, profiles, workshops and
conference presentations on the topic of “Emotional SMARTS®” -
otherwise known as “emotional intelligence” – is currently a
foundational learning opportunity in a wide variety of domestic and
offshore organizations. This workshops series is of high personal
and professional value to employees at all levels of government,
education, medical, the professions and industry.
The Emotional SMARTS® Concept:
Emotional SMARTS® relates to how people apply their intellect or their
wisdom to managing their emotions particularly when they face
emotionally charged tough times! Because consider this …
most people don’t give their emotional wellness, or their Emotional
SMARTS®, a second thought when life is nice and normal and people are
pleasant and predictable.
However, when life challenges us, it is critical that we all
know how to stay grounded, centered and focused so we achieve the best
results possible for our time, money, energy, resources and talent.
Dr. Donaldson’s Emotional SMARTS® model and process is, by design,
“practical”. Her model is a non-threatening, easy to
understand, relate to, internalize, apply and measure and in it she
refers to the A, B, C, D Cornerstones of being emotionally smart.
The “A” relates to five key Awareness skills necessary to keep oneself
emotionally literate and self-aware.
The “B” relates to Behaving appropriately with culturally, behaviourally and demographically different people.
The “C” relates to important Contact or connection skills necessary to build healthy relationships and expand one’s sphere of influence.
And last, the “D” relates
to Decision Making and being able to make big picture, far reaching
decisions that stand the test of time and scrutiny.
Emotionally smart people, by applying the Emotional SMARTS® model and
process, are better able to protect themselves from becoming fearful,
frustrated and fatigued at what is happening to them and around
them. In this way, they are better able to contribute in the
creation of productive, prosperous and pleasant work and home life.
The Emotional SMARTS® Workshop and Conference Offerings:
-
Wendy Turner-Larsen M.A. M.A. President of Turner Larsen Consulting of Regina, is a Licensee of the Emotional SMARTS® workshop for the Emotional SMARTS® product line. Wendy and June Donaldson believe that for people to be able to:
Manage unrelenting change;
Lead with courage and vision,
Participate well in teams,
Provide empathic sales and service,
Effectively negotiate and manage conflict
-
they must know how to be emotionally smart in what they say and do.
People give away what they own, and if people are feeling
fearful, frustrated or fatigued due to what is taking place around
them, they will find it more difficult to do what organizations need
and want them to do. That said, Wendy and June are proud to offer
a variety of customized workshops,
seminars, and conference presentations to Saskatchewan
businesses. For more information on Emotional SMARTS® please visit www.emotionalsmarts.com
